Plastic Bumper fitament to older valances?

I know the plastic bumpers fit on the ES style valances, but do they fit directly onto the pre-facelift Cabbie valances?

I'm about to do a bumper upgrade from the diving boards, and have front and rear bumpers ready to install, but don't have the later style valance (yet).

What year is your cabby? If it does not have the rear valance and the tail lights with the reverse light going horizontal, you will need to do a lot of work to get it to fit on the rear. The front is no prob.

      It's a 91, pre-facelift, aka diving board bumpers.

Incorrect. Year doesn't matter with cabrios. All cabrios have the lower rear arches, the rear plastic bumper is a direct swap.

Theoretically, you could probably mount it with whatever valence you want. But the late-model facelifted valence is meant to go with the plastic bumper, from a looks standpoint. Some people have fitted the early-model "cowcatcher" front airdam (on my car in my sig) with plastic bumpers. Some cars can pull it off, some cars, it looks really goofy on.
