Rear bumper from perhaps another car?

Kind of an odd question, but i've noticed bumpers from 80s cars to 80s car are usually pretty interchangebale with minor modifications. I personally hate the back end of our BMWs, especially the diving boards, i'd like something more smooth.

E36 back bumper kind of strikes my eye as being very similar, also another thought i had was the early 90s Integra and late 80s to early 90s Honda Civic Sedan.

Just a thought since my back bumper literally rotted off.

Anything has to be better then the driving boards. I need a euro bumper for my back, i allready have one on the front. I might just pick up a late model e30 plastic bumper and stick it on till i find a euro bumper. What you are talking about could be done but will take alot of modifacation.

Yeah, looking for someone that may've tried this already.

There's a common one on the first gen Rx-7 forums to replace the ugly front with a late 80s Integra front bumper, fits really good and requires very little if any modification.

      Edit:

Er, forgot about those cars i mentioned having license plates on the bumper.

My second e30 (rest it's soul) had a mustang gt rear bumper on it. I should have a pic of it at my friends house. Let me find it for you later.

Yeah, there was a guy also on the Rx-7 forums running one of those in the rear.

Speaking of Rx-7s, i think tomorrow i'm going to remove the rear bumper from one of my old parts cars and see how it fits, then possibly buy a body kit for one of those.

Kind of liking that, the twists on the ends should go with my sideskirts that have a slight twist and the ribs in the back should go with the taillight ribs and straight lines of the back end (is spoiler, etc).

Really old picture, but shows my sideskirts, car is now red with the wheels in my signature.
