is that seam supposed to be on the side of the e-brake? it looks made to run down the top-center... looking at mine that is.

It's a double seamed one. The one that Josh has (pictured above) was a prototype that Rob made. His dual-seamed ones that he makes now are an exact replica of the OEM E30 M3 boots. The seams line up with the seams on the e36 leather ebrake handle.

Thank you, Ken. He's right about the stitches, they are much wider apart than his current double stitched ones. But even if I do end up getting an E36 handle, I won't be to bothered if the seams don't match up. :up:
