    Rocker Panel Rust

I'm looking at an e30, floors are in excellent shape, however, there is a 2" diameter hole in the passenger rocker panel just before the bolts for the rear subframe. Is this going to be a problem to fix? Just get a shop to cut it out and weld in a patch?

    Thanks

If there is a 2" hole, there is more rust in other places too, you just can't see it. IMO, I'd find another car with no rust.

Not hard to patch, but as stated before, look further. I've got some rust holes that I'll deal with, but they're all pretty small as I can tell. The more you pull away sound proofing and trim the more you find. I'm tempted to strip everything down to frame, have it acid dipped, patched, then painted.

So far nothing worth finding another shell, but not everything has been exposed yet.
