This is just a thought, but has anyone every done there shadowline using vinyl that they make use for decals on cars? I think it would be good for what im doing, because, I dont want It to be perminant(so paints out of the question), and i think that using electrical tape would look bad up close due to a bunch of lines. What do you guys think?
Vinyl shadowline maybe??

So take off your chrome good ones and put some beat chrome ones after you spray it with sem paint back on.

so.....let me get this straight, you don't want to paint your chrome, but you want to cover it in adhesive to attach black vinyl, which will fade a LOT faster than paint, and then can't be painted over? Not to mention you're going to have your shadowline in a glossy black, while therest of your trim is matte.
Just go some trim off a car in a junkyard, paint it, and keep your around. My mountains are better than yours.Comment

I highly doubt that the adhesive would be hard to remove if i decide to take it off. But i guess you guys have a point. Ill be at the junk yard in a few weeks looking for bumpers and i ll see how much i can get the trim for.
P.S. How does the trim come off?90 325is

That adhesive left by the vinyl tape is VERY hard to remove-ask Bobby (rcwells) about this as he just did his. I am the lazy previous owner he mentions who used the vinyl tape to shadowline my trim. It looks good for a while, but after a few months it starts to shrink exposing the chrome underneath. I did the tape as a temporary solution until I painted the trim, but never got around to painting. I do remember trying to remove a bit of the adhesive later on and it would not come off. I think Bobby spent most of his time the other day removing the old adhesive. I believe he said that alcohol helped in getting it off.Originally posted by 318driverI highly doubt that the adhesive would be hard to remove if i decide to take it off.

in the same boat... it was a mistake. big mistake. trim tape is evil, but honestly, it still looks good on my car for the most part.Originally posted by Eric GilesThat adhesive left by the vinyl tape is VERY hard to remove-ask Bobby (rcwells) about this as he just did his.
