    m-technic 1 installation questions

    hey guys-

I'm new to the forums and to the E30 community. My current project is installing an OEM m-tech 1 kit on an '87 325is. I was able to fully install the front bumper and valence, but have some mounting hardware issues with the sideskirts and the rear bumper.

    1) Does anyone know the correct process to mount the rear euro bumper on an US-made early E30...here are some links to some pics of the mounting holes and the mounting brackets...

Where do we drill the holes? Do we need to weld a plate first? if so, where?

Brackets (are they the correct ones?):

    2) We don't seem to have the correct mounting hardware for the sideskirts...

What is this clip, how many do we need and where can we find them (i.e., anyone know a part number?)

What else would we need to install the sides?

Here's a website with the parts breakdown for the sideskirts...what all do we need to order? Where should we order them from?

I realize this is a complicated post, but I really appreciate any help or suggestions. I cannot find a thread that has a detailed log of the m-tech 1 clone installation process, so hopefully we can get one rolling. I've been taking lots of pictures throughout the whole process. Thanks for your help guys...feel free to pm me or just reply. Thanks

    No
You will need to drill 1 new hole per side.
Mount the bumper mounts to the bumper, and "trial" fit the bumper... lining up the sides. You'll then be able to see where to drill the one extra hole.

---Brackets (are they the correct ones?):
    Yes

You drill into the rocker panel at spaced intervals and then insert plastic inserts. Those clips snap into the inserts. Look across the top of the sideskirt, and you'll be able to count how many locations.

---What else would we need to install the sides?
M3 style lower sideskirt clips. One for each "hole" in the bottom of the sideskirt. Basically a little clamp that has a phillips screw through it to hold it to the rocker panel.

I ordered all my parts directly from the dealer.
PM me your e-mail and I will try and send you an excel sheet that has all the needed PN's/quantities.
