Professional Wheel Refinishing?

Hey guys, are there any places you could recommend for me to send my wheels off to for a complete refinish? They're currently in pretty bad shape. They're straight, but they're chromed and chipped. I just want to get them sanded down, touched up, and repainted in the BMW silver paint or whatever is used for that nice stock look. Thanks!

Yea - their just doors apart but no connection - kinda like a Harbor Blvd of cars, but for wheels. Save some $$ & dismount your tires.

Michael, if your talking about your 15" RS's, pull them apart (3 pieces) before you have the lip's repolished/centers painted - they charge @ $35 - $45 each, to take them apart. You need a 8mm 12 point. You might also want to think about having your bolts painted, or polished, or chromed, & then clear coated.

Adam, If your going from old chrome to strip & paint, it's not as easy as just sanding off the chrome - the wheels have to go through an additional process - be dipped in a liquid stripper - then primed & painted. Don't know what that extra step costs. A simple new paint (BMW OEM color) runs @ $80 per wheel, including cap.

Speedway is better known for their polishing, but both do excellent work.

Thank you guys for the awesome replies! Jack, do you think $400-500 would be a safe estimate for how much it would cost, or are you thinking it'll be more than that? I'll probably just call them in a second anyways and check it out. Thanks again!

I think that is a realistic guess. You might be able to save a little if you have the chrome stripped off yourself - then take them in for paint. They would probably have to send them out anyway. Let me know what you find out - what type of wheel are you going to strip & paint?

Well, my original intention was to do it with 15" ACS replicas. I'm no purist, so having a perfect replica of a sexy rim didn't bother me. It seems that changed today though, because I just got an offer for something very similar, authentic, and an inch larger... :twisted:
