What's wrong with my gas tank lid?

I have no idea whats wrong with it. It doesn't wanna sit right or something. When I lock my doors is doesn't catch unless I hold it in and lock the doors. Does something look wrong to you guys? I'm new to this whole BMW thing. Thanks for all the help!

It's all dirty...ewww. I should just get a new one but I still want to know what is wrong with it.

maybe the spring is bent a bit making it not as tight (can't really tell from the pics) Other than that, everything looks in order....

Maybe try grabbing the spring (the piece of wire) near the bottom with a pair of vice grips and pulling it towards the ground to try and straighten it out a bit, so it sits down in the mounting hole more...
