As did I, oddly enough. I should post up the RHD version for the mono-wiper thread, thanks for the reminder.
EDIT: Oh and Nando, you got the car repainted, what did they use?
OEM trim Black paint code?

they actually do paint some of it. I just got new wiper grille covers, they aren't bare plastic.Leave a comment:

So I called the most reputable BMW shop in the area and he said:
"No, that is the plastic color comes out after being made" or something to that effect. Does that make any sense? Plastic must be black when it is made...I dunno fuck it.Leave a comment:

Um, I guess I should mention that its one painter, one bodyman working on my car, not at the same time obviously.
And I just want to be 100% sure that they choose the correct paint. I just like to be OCD like that.Leave a comment:

Shouldn't the body shop know [or be able to find out] what paint to use on the trim?Leave a comment:

Hah I can point you to a reputable shop, but I'm in line first! I'll let you know if they are willing to spray another car, and give you a price on it, if you're serious PM me. The guys are quality painters & bodymen...I'll let them know.
I'm going to speak to a BMW shop nearby today to confirm this before I get it painted.Leave a comment:

When are you getting this paint job done, let's go together, and have the shop guy give us a buy one paint job, get one free deal.Leave a comment:

matte is a low lustre paint, so with that being in the name you posted i would assume that is the code for bmw trim. have you tried paintscratch.com or talking to a reputable body shop in your area? if all else fails, you can buy sem in pints and quarts. it gets mixed and sprayed out of a gun. when i did my car, i bought a quart and did all the trim pieces, grilles, and whatnot and i think i still have half a quart left.Leave a comment:

Change the title of the thread for me then to clarify that I'm not looking for a can, but an actual paintcode number?

Dupont Satin black works great too. It is alittle cheaper than SEM but it looks and performs nearly identical.Leave a comment:

Thanks for that link. I am going to try their product to see if it looks anything close to what they claim. If it works, I might spray on a set of faux rocker panels. I may even spray the rear valience to give it that cheap 80's look.Leave a comment:

Id go factory if I was going to take the time, money, and effort to have the car professionally painted. That said, I have no clue if thats the right color.Leave a comment:
