i figured it out...and i'm stupid...
the pictures were really small on the tech webpage...
so when i got to the 'jump the relay' part, i just used the
10mm mounting bolt for the relay/fuse box as a reference
for the high and low beam relays...it wasn't until i looked
in my Bentley that i realized my mistake...the Bentley has
a relay/fuse photo that identifys everything...that image is
a wider shot and reveals the location of the hood latches...
at that point i realized that everything i was doing was
upside down...apparently that 10mm mounting screw is
located toward the front of the car through 87 and against
the firewall on 88-up...closer examination of the images
confirmed the error with the missing fuse in the corner
for heated seats...
all works fine now...thanks

Even so I did say to check the bentely for confirmation of relay location. :PIm now E30less.
