    easy bumper question

    do the plastic bumper equipped cars come with detatchable valances in the rear or are they part of the body?

        They're the same. The valence is different though; the 88 has the newer one.

              I sold a pre 88 bumper a 1985 metal bumper to a kid who has a 1988 325i and he went to install the bumper and couldnt as the bumper is different from the 88 metal bumper.

              Sound about right?

              Basically im saying the 88 metal bumper is different.

              I personally think it was a lack of trying to get it to fit as anything will fit with a little bit of work...right?

                I was the kid. Got the parts off it at least trim etc. It was not a lack of tryin to get it to fit thier were no holes in bottom for bolts and thier was no way to drill them because of a flange of metal inside. I also took it to the best body shop in Denver and they tried to custon fab it with no success, they also sent it to best bumper recondition place here nor could they needless to say it was not for lack of effort.

                  Thanks Ash, Well there ya go girls and boys. 88 metal bumpers wont fit on a pre 88 and nor will an pre 88 bumper fit on a 88 vehicle :D
