What do I do after compounding?

Hey guys, I have a question some might feel stupid, but I just don't really know.

I am planning on compounding my car this weekend and am unsure about what to do after I compound it.

Do I need to get some polishing compound and then wax it, or can I just wax it right after compounding it? I really don't know the proper way to do this.

Meguiars recommends a sealer before waxing, it's really nice although not completely necessary.

Wash, clay, compound, polish, (finish glaze/seal optional) then wax in that order. If this is new paint, don't wax for 2-3 mos after application. Compound is just polish with a heavier grain, so it will remove more marks, swirls, etc, but will also leave the car slightly dull a finer grained polish is used.
