    convertable window question

The window on my cabrio is looking horrible. I was wondering if anyone has had just the plastic window reomved and how much it cost to install the new window. I purchased a new top about 3 years ago so all i need is just the window. Any help would be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    thanks again

I'd say that unless it has cracks or tears, try and refurbish the rear window first. You'd be amazed at some of the results. There are several products out there, most employ a 3-step process. Plexus, Renovo, Novus and Meguiars all sell products for this purpose. I had a buddy that was all ready to buy a new plastic window for his e30 convertible until I went and detailed the window that was already on the car. He couldn't believer the difference. He also didn't buy a new window either.

I have a plastic window cleaner but it does not remove most of the imperfections. I think i will look into a diffent cleaner before I decide to get a new one.... thanks

Does the window fold on E30s? If not, you could get a glass one installed. Just a thought, though.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

I used Auto-Glym's Car Glass Polish, and it did wonders!

(I know it says Glass although the window is plastic) :)
