    removing side moldings?

i have a 90 325iS and i want to remove the side moldings so i can buff under and around them, and also repaint them..... i know they are held on with clips and should pop off..... but before i start, what is the easiest way to remove these without damaging the paint surface

open your doors and unscrew the small bolts. There will be 1 per molding (I think). then be carful and either slide them back or pry them off the small plastic clips. Becarful because these break really easily...i broke one of mine.

the rear one just pops straight off without any small bolts. Just get ahold of it and pull straight out...do not do that for the front 2 though.
