Wanting personal opinions on lowering springs & stuff...

I wanted to see what everyone else with lowered suspensions decided to go with and how much they like, or dislike their setup. I'm looking for a civility (or as much as can be expected) and more cornering confidence in my setup. Nothing that will possibly affect the car's goemetry with a slammed look. I'm a little jealous with my Dad's aftermarket setup on his car, so I have to do mine!
Personally, I am going with Bilstien sports for the shocks, but I'm still debating which spring application. Any thoughts on a good spring setup with no more than a 1.5" drop?

    - also, do E30 M3 offset control arm bushings REALLY make an appreciable difference in higher speed stability? Thanks guys!

H&R Sports would probably be your best bet. Or possibly Eibach's, but they lower the car a little bit more.

      Agreed.

I run a H&R and Bilstein set-up and it is awesome!

The best reason to spend for M3 control arm bushings is they are a lot stiffer and longer lasting, and yes they also help turn in and stability a bunch.

          I like my H&R sport.

eibach pro kit here, and like it very much. It gives it a nice drop and decent ride quality, and alot better handling than stock. If your doing suspension strictly for the handling aspect, i'd look elsewhere for stiffer springs.

I'm in love with my Ground Control / Koni setup, as many others here are also.

Regarding handling, I guess I really want a stiffer ride that's less sloppy at highway speeds, and improves handling. I'm not trying to compete against a Lotus Elise in a handling contest, so I don't think I'll need stiffer springs. I travel almost exclusively in my E30, so it can't be a harsh ride.
It sounds like the Bilstein/H&R combo is a great way to go!

H&R sports or Eibach Pro Kit sounds like a great match for you. The Pro Kit will give you a bit more of a drop though. Your choice

If you really want to avoid harsh ride I would avoid the sport springs entirely and just get some Bilstestein HD struts & shocks to go with your stock springs. It will dramatically improve control and handling. You won't ge wantering in the lane anymore from wind and passing semi trucks will be a lot less tenuous.

I remember looking at fuddys car which i think has the same setup as yours. The eibach kit for covertibles supposable doesnt lower it tooo much. The only thing im worried about is camber messing up my tires. How does your camber seem with the eibach kit?

the neg. camber with my pro kit is nothing to worry about...that was my biggest fear when installing my suspension but it's really not bad at all.
