    Convertible Top Replacement

Who has replaced a convertible top?

    Mine is shot. Completely.

It needs to come out and a brand new one put on.

I have a manual top --- have any of you replaced your cabby tops?

Did you use the Ebay-bought tops? They have so many options at different prices, I don't know what I need to buy.

    Any help? Thanks.

I did it with a pelican top. Its a pain in the ass, and you should let someone else do it.
Hemingway said it best. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games.”

      How much was the top?

Where did you buy it? At Pelican?

And how long did it take you?

I did it at a leisurely pace over a three day weekend, so I dont really know how many hours I put into it. I bought it at pelican parts .com, and I can't remember what I paid, but I did find out later that a friend of a friend could have done it for 300 which was cheaper than the top.

Labor doesn't matter to me because I will do the work myself.

I just want to know what the top itself will cost, and roughly how many hours I should expect to spend doing the swap.

Try topsonline.com. Great service. Installation is very tedious. Just follow directions to a tee!!
