finally did shadowline and black kidney... see pics inside

So yesterday I spent 9 hours straight doing the shadowline, and while paint coats were drying, i also did the matching black kidney. 9 hours straight, no pissing, no eating, no drinking, it was crazy. Its a reallly tedius thing to do, but as soon as i peeled off all the tape, it was well worth it. it came out awesome, i just hope it stands up to the weather. I used two coats of generic black primer, and two coats of SEM Flat Black Trim Paint, looks identical to OEM trim. I think it all goes well with my black IS spoiler. Enough already, here are the pics...

    AFTER:

I think it came out reall well, i was expecting worse. Tell me what you think, any comments or questions welcome... Oh, by the way, this will all look better when I get my suspension in, its in the mail right now! thanks,
    Dan

9 hours, granted i had to go get a 2nd can of primer, but that was maybe 20 minutes, 9 fuckin hours, they werent kidding when they said set aside the whole day to do this in the write up. Masking takes the longest. it has to be perfect, there was no such thing as "that'll do"...

Did you not use a scuff pad and/or sandpaper on the trim prior to applying the primer? If not, I hope it doesn't begin to flake off after a while.

You're actually supposed to scuff up the trim, then use a self-etching primer. I hope it doesn't start to chip.

Looks great though, shadowline transforms any car.

9hrs!! I would have just taken the trim off. When I painted mine I just removed the trim. It really is not hard to remove it, paint it, then put it back on.

              looks good

318driver: You just start at the rear, you have to push it down on the little lip and then kinda twist it down. Once you get to the front of the car just slide them straight on.

I have a cab, so all i want to take off is the front peice on the A-piller? I dont know pillers... anyways, you can see in my sig the piece i am talking about, its the only one going up. the rest will be painted on the car. any advise on putting that peice back on?
