Gap in passenger side Tail light

Hey guys, this has been bugging me since I bought the car. The tail lamp on the passenger side has a half inch gap between the lens and the body. I took it off today to inspect it because I thought it would be an easy fix. However, I didn't see anything out of place when I took it off. The weather stripping was where it was supposed to be and all of the nuts were tight. I reinstalled it and the gap is still there. See pics below:

    Passenger side, gap

    Driver side, no gap

I'm hoping that this is just an issue of the rubber seal not seating properly and not evidence of bad body work. According to the original owner, the car has never been in an accident. Anyway, let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Pull the light out and take a look, could just be a folded seal

yo, its just the way you tighten the bolts. Make sure you dont tighten one end first before you go to the other side. Take it off positioned it flat hand tread to hold then pull it in half turn each bolt and rotate.
