    Removing Dry Rotted Hood Insulation?

I want to replace my nasty hood insulation, you know the kind that crumbles when you touch it, can anyone suggest a good solvent to remove the left over residue?

I tried goof-off and that didn't even get it off. I scraped all of the shit off with a putty-knife and then got one of the newer underhood covers. It looks great.

break cleaner will probably work, plastic razor blades would help too.
