yes, this is another thread about Euro Bumpers...

Ok, searching yields no results on such a topic.
My guess is that it sees the word "Euro" and freaks
out because we use it so much. My questions are these:

    1. Where are some places to get these bumpers?
    2. Has anyone ever gotten rid of the chrome and painted it the color of thier car?
    3. How about some pics?

    thanks for all your help--

1-) Greg ( M-technik-3 ) sells them from time to time

2-) No, for that much, just go with plastic bumpers.

3-) Look up Ryan's and James' car. Both of them have euro bumpers and they look awsome.

Bav Auto sells them new for $800. Good luck finding a decent set used; BMW did a terrible job rust-proofing them and just about every rear bumper you can find has rust from 15 years on the road.

Sometimes they show up on eBay for about $400 or so.

You'll need the early european valence too if you plan on mounting any sort of airdam.

Many people have painted the chrome part body color, it's what I plan to do with the ones that I have in my garage. I think it looks great, and it really makes the car look modern.

Ok thanks, if i am going to keep my front valence then, what are some of the options that I have? Is there any "is" lip equivalent for the early front valence?

I think there is some kind of Zender lower lip that will work on the early style valance.

There are tons of stuff but all in DE land. I had two of these lower chins and every one wanted them then all of a sudden no one wanted them. MPH has one on his Cabrio and the go for over $500.00 new he said.

If and when I get my container here, hopefully soon it will be stuffed with alot of goodies. I plan with help from nameless sources at the moment to get this done once a year.

I can get them but people don't want to pay the prices (new).

Everyone has to understand, these parts aren't cheap. Greg, might be able to hook you up but like others said expect to spend $400+ (if not more) for them.

Just so you know those lips wont work with your US valance. its shaped differently than the euro one. Its not even close. I was hoping to use my old lip to hold the plastic in place under my air dam but no go.

Here is how the car looks with the US valance:

As you can see the old openings are visible but dont look too bad. The back is the real issue IMHO. You can see the holes for the bumper shocks and the back looks very thin.

Pics of the conversion on my site (if I ever updated it).
                    Im now E30less.
