Glove box won't lock, options?

Glovebox in my e30 i just got won't lock. Key goes in, won't wiggle left or right.

Whats going on, and what are the best/cheapest options i have for replacement.

Get a non-locking handle.

Its not the right key.. duh.

Get a non locking handle, they dont break all the time like the locking ones, and leave your shit trapped in the glovebox.

I'd like to have lockable functionality for my glovebox. As it sits right now, its just like a non-locking handle, because it doesn't lock since i don't have the key :roll:

I'm wondering if there's any options for getting a new locking mechanism or something.

you can replace the back of the glove box latch, that is the part that breaks, i did that and it works fine ever since.
