    bumper paint.

so i am tucking my aluminum bumps and i wanted to paint then too. not the color of the car though, just semi-flat black. i know i have to sand and all that jazz, but what kind of paint should i get? should i get legit BMW color coded paint, or just some metal/aluminum black paint for home depot. maybe a protectant too.

i don't know. anyone done this?

Everyone around here seems to worship SEM trim paint. Maybe that's what you should use.

When you paint the boards you should scuff them a bit. Dont use a very heavy grit. 400 and a scotch brite pad might be enough. I used a heavy grit and I couldnt get the deep scratches out. Prime them, and then paint. If you are going for the flat look dont clear them, otherwise you can throw some clear coat on them. Any paint should work. sem might be okay~ Id use just a regular flat or semi-flat black paint.
