    Name that rear wing...

    Picked this up today.
The mount bolts don't line up direct to the E30 trunk lid but the 2-3" on the right and left side are raised to hang over the trunk sides so the footprint actually fits on the trunklid. Came from an older 5 series i think it was. It does have a faint number and bmw stamped in it. I'll try to get better pics later.

It is hard plastic type material, not soft rubber.
Anything interesting other than what I'd call the "batwing"?
    Debating selling or installing...

It's a flush fit to the trunk too.

      Strange shape for sure.

I'm starting to think of 240sx and other such cars as the origin.
I just set the wing on my car so you'll have to imagine it being flush fit.
          Pics for kicks:

looks good from the back and i like the overhang. Install it, looks like you'll be the only one with this spoiler.

Are you sure it doesn't take the place of that lip? It almost looks like someone tried to do a takeoff of the old 911 turbo whale-tail wing, but downsized it.

Ummm, yes, it does take th place of the IS lip and the whole thing mounts flat against the trunk lid but I wasn't going to unbolt my lip just to show that. ;)
It's not a raised wing at all, it is a flush lip with a slight overhang left and right.

Edit: Sold it to a 5 series owner
