Ok ill write it over agian.
I just bought a pair of Used foglights and i am buying a set of new lenses from www.bmwlights.com . Has anyone had experience with lenses from this place, or experience changing lenses? Also i was wondering if theres anything i can do as far as reflection tricks to make them look more smoked, like smoked ellipsoids trick?

Different than what?Originally posted by 318driverThats true, but while i have them apart i think im going to try to experiment with them anyways to see if i can get anything different
It's simple, really.
heat gun to remove the lens (with leather work gloves), then get some zinc sheet metal from Home Depot with some trim snips, use cardboard to figure out what exact dimensions you need to make the baffling for the highbeam (much easier said than done), cut the baffle, paint black, attach with JB Weld, paint silver ring in lowbeams black, put on new lenses with Silicone caulk, pain the rings black, snap them over the wet-caulked lenses
I just simplified about 3 days worth of work into a sentence. When you get good at it, you can do it in about 4 hours start to in the box ready to ship out.
Good luck, email me if you have problems.

New fogs looked smoked. Old ones look hazed out and chipped (because they are)
There is really nothing inside a foglight to smoke. Not without seriously harming light output.
Old fog

New fog

true true. Jordan do you know what the replacement lenses look like, becuase they are not glass like oems
Frequent Asked Questions
How do these lenses differ from the Original BMW lenses?
The only difference in our lenses are that they are made from impact UV resistant Acrylic compounds. Unlike the original Glass lenses the Acrylic lenses do not break easily or become discoloured.
The shape, size and curviture is the same as the orignal lenses.
I mean there only 35 for the set so i dont think i can beat that. I would be basically 65$ for new fogs(i got my fogs for $30)90 325is

Plastic aftermarket lenses suck, I would never buy those.Tenured Automotive Service Professional - Avid BMW Enthusiast

Do plastics still look the same, just about? I had them priced around for something like... $60 CDN shipping included, compared to having to search for an entire new foglight unit, which are... well, more than $60. As long as they look just about the same, no biggie for me IMO (Then again, mine don't operate LOL, I'm sure I would have another opinion if they worked)'91 E30 M42 DIAMANTSCHWARZ

Plastic lenses do not look the same. They look like cheap plastic. They dont have the dpeth of clarity glass does. they will pit and haze alot faster too.Tenured Automotive Service Professional - Avid BMW Enthusiast

I wouldn't say identical, but close. And they're cheap. You may as well try them. But get some Lamin-x (the thick stuff - they sell double thick film) because they'll take a beating and the plastic will look horrible in a hurry.Originally posted by 318driveri bet they would look identical with the 3m film on themOriginally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment
