front licence plate strip

Ok I just got mine in the mail today and i rushed to fit it on only to discover it dosnt fit..

First of all the thing is too long! I can get one side in but the other is about 3cm to long. Also once i get it on I wont beable to get the washers on since there is a freakin metal strip behind the bumper. They gave speical directions to put it on an 86 but this is an 87.

Have any of you guys incounted this problem when fitting the strip on an early style car?

The bumper strips to move you know... unclip them, and clip them back in where they belong so the strip fits.

Its not hard.

So i take out the 2 8mm bolts in the wheel wheels and then I can pull the clips out and move them?

I bought one of those license plate delete strips once, shitty fit and I ended up breaking it... Oh well.

hmm mine fit fine. I just removed the bumper like Jordan is implying and put it on with a clear shot from the rear. Then you could move the rubber to fit.

My bumper dosnt come off both the bolts are striped

but my mom is workin at a bmw dealership currently and im gonna have her tell the machanics to replace those 2 bolts so i should beable to take it off tomorrow.

And ya i broke the plastic stub on the right on accident but that shouldn't matter ;)
