[Solved] Interior Triangular Side Mirror Trim Installation Tip ?

The inside plastic tabs are broken and I want to hold this trim piece in place with some silicone.
Is this gap normal ? Is there any special tip to properly install it ?
Appreciate a reference picture.

Without the tabs a gap will certainly exist since the factory installation sort of stresses the panel in place. You may be able to use hot glue, or any semi flexible adhesive to reattach the tabs to the trim panel.
