license and registration - can't open glovebox

I [and some friends] did an m30 swap a few days ago and pulled the original wiring harness out so that it could be rewired for the m30. the plastic that goes at the top of the inside of my glovebox [with the light] was removed and put back in after the swap. The screws were left out though, and allowed for the plastic part to move/fall and now my glovebox will not open. will not budge an inch. and so i couldn't access any of my records should i need them in the event of an accident/getting pulled over

my question is: is it possible to open the box from the back, or do i pretty much just have to wreck it and buy a new one? I'd love if i could save it... its flawless.... but so is the dash and i'm not about to try and pry it.

I thought i would ask before i go in there and bust something without needing to.

    thank you!

You can unbolt the glove box from the back and remove the stuff inside. Than bolt it back up and leave it.

I don't like to store my registration info in the glove box since someone could break in and look up your address than just go to your house and jack your car. Also another reason not to leave your garage door opener in the car as well.

      I might just be paranoid.

I'm going to keep a photocopy of the stuff if my wallet and keep the originals at home from now on.

thanks! i was kind of worried to get pulled over and have no access to anything. -also i had thought that bmw would have build a more robust glovebox than that. i thought you wouldn't be able to get into it if you couldn't undo the latch
