Interior Options- what would you do?

Ok, I want to put sport seats in my '87 325i 4-door, but I can't decide if I want to keep it blue, or swap for an all-black interior.

Obviously going all black will be a lot more work (probably spray the door inserts and carpet, as well as replace the rear seats), but would it be worth it? All black would look pretty sick I think, but the blue is starting to grow on me (crazy, I know).

    Here's what I have now:

So what would you do? Just find some blue sports and be done with it, or go for broke (literally, maybe) with the all-black look?

Oh, and if you've got a line on some blue or black front sport seats, let me know!

Keep it blue, it's different, get some blue sports call it done. I'm going from tan to black and it's boring as hell.

I am about to get a set of blue sport seats with blue door cards out of a touring. Actually not 100% sure there sports but have a high bolster. They look like these. http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/atta...4&d=1240606469
LMK if interested. PM me since I might forget to look for this thread

Get blue sport seats - everyone has a black interior. I would swap the door handles and map pockets out for black ones - that will make a nice contrast.

If the exterior of your car wasn't blue, I'd say keep it. But that's a little too much blue IMHO. If you swap to black, I might be interested in the blue door panels and rear seat. There are a couple all black 4-door interiors floating around for sale.

              This

is a great idea, would look real good IMHO.

Whatever you do, don't spray/dye it black - you have something somewhat unique to work with.

Another thing - get black floor mats - it will tone down the "all blue" some.

Yeah, I should have guessed that would be the first reply from this forum. Ha! Good call. Definitely don't disagree either, but I'm pretty sold on the Bilstein/H&R Sport combo already...just a matter of time there.

Great ideas guys, thanks for the input. I thought a little visual aid would help so I had my beautiful and talented wife do a few mock-ups. I think it gives a pretty good idea of what it might look look like...

                  All-Black:

                  Black seats, blue carpet/doors:

Blue seats, black door handles/map pockets:

Personally, I think a little blue looks pretty good. The question is, what combination?

+1 on leaving it blue. and +1 on the black door pulls and map pockets. Although i got a all red int in mine with black door pulls, map pockets and floor mats. The floor mats are almost over kill on the black in it and sometime i would like to get the factory red floor mats for it.

So I may have a line on some blue heated sport seats out of a convertible. It would come with the wiring harness and console w/ switches too. Now I know the leather stitching is different (horozontal), and I don't think there's a 4-door rear seat that matches. Has anyone done or seen this combo before? Does it look goofy with the different stitched leathers? Is the blue color slightly different too, or does that match at least?

I think the cabby/M3 style rear seat will fit in a 4dr - but it will make it a strict 4 seater as there is a hump in the center of the cabby/m3 rear seat.
