Alcantara Mtech1 wheel? Can it be made?

Driving a 330CiPP today, I dig the material on the steering wheel.

My wheel gets all sticky and the material comes off on my hands - the leather like melts - in hot, humid conditions.

So my thinking is perhaps Rob would wrap a Mtech One with Alcantara......thoughts?

Rob has made this one. He's probably sold it since but going by the pics, he must be able to make them. Shoot him a PM maybe?

    Hope this helps,

    Pete

i think if you think you would like it, you should think about getting it.

As I write this, I've got my latest prototype sitting on the floor beside the Mtech1 wheel. I'm sooo close. Should have pics up this weekend. The kit should be attachable on your own wheel if it works out right.

No shit, you should see how fast the alcantra wheels on the 330i ZHP wear out.

Well, they didn't come out like I was hoping. I have quite a bit of time into these prototypes, and they really don't make the grade IMHO:

Can't stop that inside gathering without fully sewing the piece on, and thats no quick task. Sorry 'bout that.

                  It's okay Rob, you tried.

                  p.s. Pictures don't work.

Would something like this be possible? A cover that fits the outside of the wheel, and either replacable?

I will need to get another wheel, or a steering wheel cover when it warms up. Don't want one from Walmart really.

It looks cheap, and is, but it works......but maybe you could make it decent. If the pictures work, I could get an idea of what failed.

don't load for me for some reason, but I can load them with copy & paste now.

Too bad they bunch like that, they would look sweet overwise.
