    E46 M3 / 330 Perf. Package Steering Wheels in E30s?

I searched and couldn't find anything about this. Anybody ever tried installing an M Wheel into an E30?

I LOVE those wheels. I know they have an airbag which is probably a show stopper but i'm still curious if it's been done. If not, anybody ever find a similiar wheel?

I would say 99% of people that swap a steering wheel in any E30 won't be putting one with an airbag in there!

Word.. Aside from that, i wanted to swap an E46 wheel into an E36 and it was a nogo (at least not without extensive modification).. So god only knows about an E30.

I know they aren't exactly the same but M-tech II wheels look awesome, don't have an airbag to worry about and will probably be cheaper than an E46 retrofit.

Just my .02 cents. If I were you, I would definately go this route, they are very nice wheels.

Not even a chance an E36/E46 wheel will fit.

Plus it'd be really really expensive, especially the performance package wheel.

BTW- I'd *hate* to have an alcantara wheel, it would be worn out in a month and look like shit. not to mention the plethora of buttons that either wouldn't work, or take a lot of work to get to work

I'd love to have an alcantara wheel. They feel sweet.

And the performance package cars which have been driven for several months already daily still have good condition steering wheels.

I want my wheel covered with alcantara - the leather is dissolving in hot, humid weather and I can either replace it or improve on it. (And I cannot merit spending $ on Momo yet, although that would be hawt.) Time to talk to rsheiring.

I don't know about that, Robert.

A friend of mine with a 330Ci PP who took delivery in July has gone through 2 alcantara wheels already.

Hmmm, a few of l the customer cars I drive are performance package and the steering wheels had never been worn or fucked.

Maybe poor treatment, I dunno, but feel good.
