    Here's my shift knob:

It looks like the Z4 plain leather knob.

The previous owner put it on......only it was broken and kept coming off......try test driving a car without a shift knob......

Anyway, i wanted to know how much it'd cost to replace......dealer told me like $80-$90 or more!!!!

Screw that shit......I used $0.99 on some super glue.......3 months later it hasn't come off.

Anyway, back on topic. My is plain is good. The knob is short and comfortable and feel nice. It's not over the top like a chrome knob. Too much can go wrong if you try to bring that bling in the E30......

My suggestion: plain leather...... or the one with a lil bit of Titanium brushed......

Are there any aluminum knobs...that are black? I'd like the extra weight, without it standing out so much, because there won't be any other silver parts in my interior, it'll all be black - so, I don't exactly want a huge shiny aluminum knob - I want some sort of black aluminum / titanium, do they exist?

And, if they don't, I think I'd probably go with something similar to Jordans, since I still want something other than the normal all leather knob, but still want the same style of knob (I don't want just a Momo type "ball"). And, Jordan, you reccommend getting those off ebay? Do you know any stores that sell them?

Is there a write up anywhere of how to wire up a lighted shift knob?

                        BAM! there ya go.

This a write up to MAKE one, not just wire it up. I think the guy spent like $55 for the knob, $11 for the shift knob badge, and a lil more for a bulb, wires, and red opaque material.

New replacement is $49 @ bavauto, cheaper elsewhere.
