Super duper blinged cluster

Im sure as many of you know I often reply to for sale items with "you want to trade for anything?"

9 out of 10 times, I get "no need the cash"

Last week fellow member took me up on the offer to trade a part for a GP special cluster(I'll let him identify himself if he chooses)

So here is how it began. Standard e30 cluster, bad SI board, broken odo gear and plain jane...

Going all out on this thing...

First out with the bad SI board, the new owner is going to need to have this thing working perfect or it could get him in trouble.;)

Next bulb covers... This is what happen when you put the wrong wattage in...

Replaced with nice shiny ones.

Next up the needles...

Going for the Alpina look so using orange, not red. I did this on previous car and with the bulbs being lighting up amber it really looks awesome.

Next up the plastic lens...

two stage, plastic cleaner and plastic polish...

Next up replace Odo gear(s), check for breaks in the solder on the brake lining indicator, strengthen even if ok as its just a matter of time.

Then off to the cosmetics, Alpina strip, Brushed rings and genuine CF overlay:D

Need to get it done this week as Im out of town for the next 10 days.

I think bav or bmp has them I put an order through some site to get a couple, I forget the name odoman, odogearguy or something like that.

Damn things are worth more then gold, tiny little things.

I'm 99.9% sure I know who's car this is for. I'm betting it's black and has euro bumpers. And correctly orientated headlight wiper/washer system.

Will visually check all points. I've also been waiting to crack out this Frankenstein machine I picked up a while ago. Supposedly it will check everything on a cluster.

Hopefully I can figure it out, beats installing and testing or worst, installing driving for 50 miles and having something go out...
