Not sure if this has been covered on this site, and mods feel free to relocate this wherever you think it needs to be:
Over thanksgiving weekend i got around to installing my Sport EVO front seatbelts in my e30. The part number for the front belt is:
72-11-2-233-003 and you will have to order two of them
The dealer list price is $126.69 per side, or $107.69 with the CCA membership discount.
The instal is simple enough, just pull the rear interior pannels and the bottom half of the rear seat and it exposes the assembly. Simply un-bolt the old assembly from the frame, slight the new assembly in, and its done... took about an hour and a half to finish to do that and clean some stuff with the pannels off. What was interesting about this wasn't really the instal itself, but rather the differences in the systems themselves. The red is the sport evo belt, black is obviously stock

The sport evo system is more heavy-duty. The belt also feels like it is a stronger gauge of material, but that could also be the age of the old belts.
When you receive the belts they are completely coiled up for packaging purposes. This proves to be a difficulty as you have to be able to remove the cover to "release" the mechanism. The cover on the stock belts is shown in detail:

Very flimsy piece. It's hard to get the tabs off without breaking them off. On the sport evo case however, they changed to a modular plug system which greatly improves the ease of removal of the casing. Don't have a detailed picture, hut here is a casing comparisson:

The really interesting thing about this was the way that the seatbelt system was changed internally. Pictured first is the internal of the stock seatbelt setup:

Now, a much different sport evo internal shot:

It seems that in general the sport evo system is much stronger and better from a safety and installation setup.. Apparently BMW did learn something over the years of production ;) not really certain as the why they changed from the other setup to the newer one however. Regardless, it's a cool mod at a reasonable price that does not take a long time to install. Really stands out on the black interiors. If anyone wants other pictures of the install PM me or send me an email....
cheers,
ted
