Chalky rear pop out window latches

Any advice on bringing my latches back to their former glory? I think they were black originally, but the plastic looks aged.

I think I'm going to just kiwi the fuck out of them and see if they look any nicer afterward, I have some kiwi leather dye up in the closet. Gonna do a little before and after action...
