    gauge question

Can i make e36 gauges work with the M20 engine? I've noticed that a lot of e30's especially over in Europe, have the hands of all of their gauges red. The stock e30 gauge hands seem to all be white like the numbers on the gauges. I've also noticed that in the e36 the gauges dont illuminate the entire cluster, like the ones in the e30 do. How can i prevent this? I think b/c of this the e30 ones look kinda cheap. This question has been driving me nuts. What do you guys think?

E36 gauges wont work in an E30. You can paint your needles red like euro mentioned. However that might decrease the amount they show up at night. As for lighting, you are pretty much stuck with the current light setup unless you want to go INDAGLOH YOH!

Indiglo gauges are backlit so only the numbers light up at night, like the e36 ones.
They glow blue or green and are white faced. We tried to get a set produced with black faces and red illumination, but to no avail.

I wish it were as easy as chaning a few LEDs or light bulbs and getting a custom made gaugeface.
