    Tan is not tan?

The '91 318is I just picked up has a tan cloth interior. I have some "extra" tan leather sport seats out of an '87 325is that I just threw in the car. Colors do not match at ALL. Cloth tan has more red in it, and the leather tan comes off having a greenish hue. Not a big deal, as I hope to go grey and black soon enough, but thought it was interesting.

Everybody else knows about this though, right?

Ah. I haven't had too hard of a time. Kicking myself for not picking up the full set of houndstooth door cards I found at the yard. ;)

But, yeah, it isn't great. LOL.

Hypothetical story, "Red is not red. I picked up a red fender and the colors do not match at ALL. It had more of an orange hue. I thought that was interesting."

The point? Just like there's more than one red there's obviously more than one shade of "tan". There's even a sticky at the top of this sub-forum that shows pictures of each interior with examples and color codes...

You're right. Sorry. There is a beige and a natural. I didn't notice this mentioned before, and didn't bother to look through the interior sticky that diligently. My bad. All I ever heard of was TAN. Tan this, and tan that. I have never seen a FS add for a natural sport seat. Or a beige sport seat. Just tan. So excuse me for not doing a thorough and exhausting search. I will not dare post next time, until I have done so. ;)
