In the quest to do some different stuff to my car, I'm toying with the idea of an E36 compact centre console. There are definate similarities between the dashes in the console region, which makes me think that putting the slightly more modern centre console in the e30 might be a possibility. Before I head down to the wreckers, has anyone else looked into anything like this before?

I saw an E30 in a European BMW magazine a few years ago, it had an E36 coupe dashboard and consoles. The 318ti dash and consoles, as you mentioned, is more like the E30 components as far as shape. I'm sure you can make it fit, might require some fab work though. I don't know any specifics of making it fit, just giving my thoughts.

318ti dash has the same mount points as a standard e36 dash, theoretically they should be equally difficult to fit

I'd never bother with replacing the dash, it's suits the style of the car and would be a waste of effort to replace.
I'm only thinking about the console side of things.Comment

Ebrake console will work with some dremel work. I had one in my car a while back.Comment
