Best way to attack steering wheel removal?

Sold my tech 2 wheel need to get it off the car, not exactly sure what the best method of attack for this is. I don't want to damage the wheel at all. Especially removing the roundel in the middle without scratching it or anything.

    Thanks.

I don't know how the tech II wheel goes on, but every other one I've seen requires peeling the roundel off and then hitting the nut with a socket. Dental pick and some niceness should get the center up without gouging anything.

Again, I don't know the tech II wheel's internal design though.

I believe it's the same as any other oem e30 wheel. But this is good advice with the dental pick.

I've never had any trouble with a flathead on either of my wheels--pry at the top of the roundel, it should pop out eventually. You'll need a 22mm socket for the center nut, a deep socket never hurts.

Just pull the center piece (not roundel, the entire center piece) off and undo the 19mm (?) bolt. Have the steering column locked but don't just torque the bolt off against the steering column lock, hold with one hand and remove bolt with a socket wrench with the other.

Be sure to send the little spacers behind the wheel (and in front if you have 2) and send 'em off with it ;)

Nailed it. On the M-tech II you don't need to take off the roundel, the entire horn pad comes off, revealing the nut holding on the wheel.

lol just figured this out after popping the roundel off and then being like wtf? no biggie though. I've got it from here guys thank you very much. Kinda disappointed I have to throw this shitty half wrapped 3 spoke sport wheel on now after having the tech two between my gritty little palms for over a year.

there are some screws behind the airbag wheels. 4 I believe.

Just pull it off. Make sure the key is turned so you can spin the wheel or you'll break something.

oo alright had the key in the locked position. For fuck sakes, you turn the key it slides right off. I am a ruh-tard.

Now though, the two spacers am I gunna need those? Or will the old wheel just go on without those? Cause if I need em I can't send em out with the wheel.
