Carpet removal???

I'm trying to get the carpet out on my M3 but it is a complete bitch. Is there any way to get it out without making cuts? Do I need to remove the dash if I want to do this? If I do need to make cuts does anyone have pics of places to do it? Any help is appreciated.... thanks.

Cut under the HVAC


Pick one, and only one.

If you do decide to cut, just pull the console part that holds the ashtray, etc etc, should be like 3 nuts, and 2 plastic rivet things. then cut as close to the hvac body as possible, you shouldn't see it when you reinstall.

the hardest part for me was the gas pedal, i wiggled the carpet out, as opposed to removing the clip thing for it (pedal). it seems easy, but with my luck....i opted to just wiggle and curse. you might have some problems by the pedal assembly area, i did on mine.

yea just cut that little piece up! Did u remove it already, I too had trouble where the pedal is! but I did it the easy way though, just cut around the hvac box!

I haven't removed it yet. I don't have any problems cutting to get it out where the HVAC panel is to get it out because that part is covered but the part where the steering column is bothers me because that is noticable.

where the steering column goes through, there should be a slit for it, to wrap around it. kinda like a

Like that. lol that is the worse 'drawing' ever, but you wiggle it through the slit part, and the rack fits into the "O" part, if you know what i mean.

the whole driver side in general may give you some trouble, steering rack, gas pedal, pullling it down without tearing it down to the reinforced foot part, heh.

set aside 40 minutes, and understand it may frustrate you easily.
