I need a sport seat guru

Hi guys. Just picked up a pair of E30 sport seats from a later model cabrio that I'm planning on installing in my E24. The adapter brackets are on the way, so I'm good there.

My question has to do with the passenger seat. The recline feature doesn't work and the handle for it definitely sits higher than that of the (totally functional) driver seat. It's like the whole hinge assembly on the outboard side is cocked counterclockwise--if I push on the back of the seat real low, the hinge assembly rotates clockwise and it looks like its counterpart on the other seat.

    Driver side (good):

    Pass. side (bad):

    Driver side mechanism (good):

I'd like to fix this before I put them in the car, but I haven't a clue where to start looking for something that's disconnected or broken.

Has anyone had this problem and fixed it? Are there diagrams of the seat mechanism that I can use to guide me in disassembly?

Thanks for any and all input.

    Best,
    Matt

Well nevermind... :/ I took the seat apart thanks to this excellent guide:

    and found the problem:

Oi. Totally broken seat bottom pivot. Now to find a good welder...

    Cheers!
