just take the cardboard backing out of your trunk and measure the hole from there...it'll take less than a minute.

that's not feasible without dirtying the crap out of my nice clean work clothes. If i don't get an answer that's the obvious solution when i head home :)

it is 11.875" between the 2 vertical braces.

Just exactly what would you order online to build a box out of?

Well, the dimensions are more for my trip to home depot after work. I'm ordering some dynamat, wiring, and whatnot online. I need to find a decent 4ch amp though, any recommendations? I'm not trying to make an award winning system out of this car....considering i paid all of $500 for it :). It's just a DD that i want some decent sound for my 65mi daily commute to work. Somehow I knew you'd pop in here to see what i'm doing...i've read many of your threads, all good stuff i must say.

Any idea what the vertical height is?

Also, is there a downside to using DSP speakers from an E39 with an aftermarket head unit? I've got a '98 540i that i put some CDT's in a while back, and the stock DSP 5.25 components are just sitting. From what i've read they're all 4ohm except for the midrange which is still in my e39.

I build my boxes at 15", which means you need to remove the trunk tar to get them in.

As crappy as this stuff usually is, i found this while messing around last night. It looks like it might fit the ski hole just about perfect. I have the smaller 8" one in my '94 Suburban under the front seat and it does the trick for me. I needed something that was totally hidden and this worked well. Bring on the hate :D
