So I'm buying a set of vert sport seats that have been totally recovered with tan vinyl with black fabric in the middle. They look pretty decent and for less than $100 I can't really go wrong...
Now I KNOW from searching (see I'm not a noob...) that verts only fit verts, coupe rears have squared corners and sedan rears have rounded corners. Vert seats won't fit because they're suppossedly 1.5" too narrow on either side (for those math challenged that is 3" overall...).
So why not put the rears in, cut two pieces of 3/4" mdf board, glue them together to run just below and along the side of the vert seats, cover with some nice carpet or other material that matches the interior and either bolt/screw them in place OR get some HD velcro to sit in the gap?
Sure you're losing 1.5" on either side BUT it is two seats and not 3. Just curious if anybody has tried this or done something that didn't involve putting in vert rear panels. Either way I'll be doing something!
