What is that small round microphone looking thing next to the HVAC control?

It looks like a microphone and is about the diameter of a AA battery and is to the left of the cold/warm air knob . Is the government spying on me? what is it?

There's a nerve gas canister behind it. If you run from the cops at any point, they send out an EM pulse that triggers the canister, releases the gas and temporarily disables higher brain function.

You can see it in this picture (not mine) but apparently the person who owns this car cas bigger problems , the red LED could indicate that theres a bomb placed on the car and he might have to fidgit with the OBC CODE button to deactivate it!!! I do not have one of these LED's nor do I have a CODE button but I DO have the microphone thing.

I believe the original use for it or at least one of them was for the automatic climate control. that's where the sensor for the ACC would be.

That is what I have heard as well. I would give my left nut for a full working E30 auto climate control setup.

This, it was meant to be a housing for an ambient air temp sensor. But it was never actually fully put into production. I've heard of a few cars that made it out of the factory with systems that used it, but very few.
