curious because I want to get a sub box that really is only gonna sound good if I can fold that bad boy down and mine currently doesnt have it.

I was pissed.
However, the bass manages to get through. It isn't loud, but I don't have much power (didn't need it, was previously in an excab truck.). With more power, it shouldn't be a problem.WTB late model, anywhere on the east coast will go as far west as Texas for the right car at the right price. 5 speed 6cyl only.

Pretty much all E30s came with the provision for the pass-through rear seat in the unibody. The seat was an option on all models IIRC. Cars not equipped with the seat from the factory had a metal 'plug' in place of the hole in the body pannel between the trunk and the passenger compartment. This plug can be knocked out if you so desire though.
The exception is very early cars which don't have the hole nor do they even have locator marks to cut it out. My car is an August of '84 two-door and is one of the ones without the provision. I'm guessing they changed the design of the unibody in late 84 or 85...
