    V1 hardwire...

i have some shitty radar hardwired to my car now, so my question isnt how to hardwire, but rather about v1 specific hardwiring... i just bought a v1 off a friend with no accessories. my questions are 1) can i use a normal telephone cord to hardwire? 2) do i really need their kit, or can i just splice in the wires from the phone cord right into power and ground in my car? 3) if #2 is possible, what wires in the phone cord are the ones to splice in. thanks in advance,

I dont see why it wouldnt work... as long is there isnt an inverter in the hard wire kit. Just attach it to a 12v line and play with the different wires in the phone cord, you'll find the right combo. Or you could just look at somebody's plug and see if there are any wires missing from the jack.

edit: it works, but its a fucking pain in the ass, wires are so fucking small, im gonna buy the hardwire kit and redo it for fun.

I used a regular telephone cord wire to hardwire my Passport.

check panel, light purple is 12v (switched, turns on with key) and brown is ground. test first, dont take my word for it.
