    Instrument trim removal

I'm trying to remove the long rectangular piece of plastic trim just below the instrument cluster. I removed the round thumb wheel nuts from the back side. However I can seem to get it removed from in beween the steering column and the main cluster trim. What is the trick?

It snaps in. You have to use "some" force to get the top portion unseated.

I've found it to be different on each car. Some POP right out and others feel like they're going to snap from the amount of force you will have to use.

Either way, it WILL come out. You just have to be persistent. I haven't broken one yet.

Brute force...only way it worked for me. Feels like it's about to snap...and then it comes right out. Putting it back in was a little bit of a bitch too. Just get the screw ends out of the holes and shimmy it out. Don't be scared...do it.
