vert seat won't tilt forward

Tried searching for this, but couldn't find anything here. My 89 vert's passenger seat won't tilt forward/up when I pull the lever mounted on the side.

The driver's side levers work fine. Before I take it apart, I thought I might ask to see if anyone has any pointers before I mess something up.

they all have gas shocks, if you cant manually force them foward, it is likely the pull pin has came loose, you just need to open the cap on the side and loop it back.

Mine was doing the same thing. Pulled it apart and the cable is snapped. Need to call BMW to see if I can get the cable tomorrow. realoem shows a 4.50 price tag.
