    Vinyl Seat Repair

I've done some searching and I've found several threads on the restoration of cracked leather seats, and other threads on re-upholstering...

I have some decent shape sport vinyl seats.. but my drivers side bolsters have some cracks and some missing chunks of vinyl, but none of the cloth under the vinyl is damaged. Question is, is there some sort of vinyl filler / restoration paste / whatever that I could use to fill in all the cracks and missing chunks of vinyl to restore these seats back to the original look without replacing material? All the mechanicals work perfect, and all the foam is still strong and in good shape so I really would rather not tear the whole seat apart.

Any ideas are appreciated! It seems that the cracks keep getting worse with every passing month.

Eastwood has a vinyl repair kit otherwise a lot of people like the stuff from colorplus. Napa Autoparts has a kit too, I was going to try it for my dash but never got around to it yet.

There is, but it will never look the same or close to being perfect.

Look at your mousepad, now pretend there is a 2x2inch surface texture of a hamburger patty on there; That is how it's going to look like and/or feel with the repair kit.

you have proof? i fixed a small spot on my last seats. comes with different texture cards to match very close. Of course its not 100% match. But noone really will have seats re upholstered for small areas.

Maybe I was a little harsh, but yes, that's how it's going to look.
Never 100%, but better than nothing I guess.
The proof is my seats with two repair spots, and a friend of mine.
I'll take pics if anyone really cares.

I'll try a small area first just to see, if it doesn't work well I can just scrape it back off I suppose. Thanks for the input!

Go to a junk yard or ask someone here for a swatch of material and try using that to do the texturing, it will probably need to be in decent condition so the filler doesnt stick to it.
