Converting a tan interior to a black interior

Has anybody ever done this?

I'm wondering what excactly it'll take to make it authentic. Seats, Door Cards, Carpeting? what am I missing.

How much would a job like this cost?

Is this completely unnessecary?

I have front and rear black cards for a coupe. Mint condition, everything come with them. LMK if you are interested

Depends on what I end up with. Will defintitely be a 4 door. But I think an interesting project would be to find all the proper door cards and seats, (and carpet?) ot give the car a proper black interior. Don't know why they even bothered with tan.

Either get new interior parts, or I have seen people dye leather seats, youtube it.

i did the entire swap and spent less then 100 bucks

carpet - $5(junkyard)
sport leathers free(parts car)
door cars - $30
non cracked dash - $12 (junkyard)

Best and least expensive way is to trade with another owner. I would think if you decide purchase everything it should come about 150-300 depending on condition. I'm dyeing my panels black, purchasing black carpet and mats, keeping door cards and seats tan. SEM black landau is a has a excellent finish, looks oem. Ive done it once with my Civics blue interior and the finish holds extremely well, dropped a golf ball from about 6ft several times and had no signs of chips. I'll be doing mines sometime next week, I'll post up results once I do.

The only problem with trading is that you wont find many ppl who are willing to trade black for tan...more ppl trade cardinal for black interior

Im in the same situation, either i trade with my dad(hes selling his e30 soon) or i go ahead and paint my entire interior with duplicolor vinyl/plastic paint?

It's been a long time since I started this thread. You should know that I got my e30, and it has a beautiful black interior, in great condition. Minus a small rip on the driver's seat, which I intend on repairing.

Not sure what kind of seats I have. they're not standard seats, and they're not sport seats, but somewhere in between. Really plush and comfortable for it's age. And the back seat has the fold down armrest, which I hear is pretty rare.

The exterior of the car looks like shit! But afterall, when I'm driving it, I'm not looking at the exterior.
