Hopefully this is the place to put this. Can you run A/C with this? I am guessing yes. Will the cold air mess with the gauges from behind, make them malfunction?

Can remember, but are you still running A/C?

Your best bet would be to block off the center vent feed with some duct tape or something so it just comes out the vents near each door.

okay, so that would take care of any possibility of malfunction because of cold air hitting the gauges? Thanks

If the gauges you're using are going to be messed up by 40 degree air, you've got other issues.

okay, just wanted to make sure. I am probably not going with that cause I like the A-pillar 2 gauge better but that does have possibilities. So thanks for the help.

One more question...sorry for turning the thread alittle but does anyone know if there is a A-pillar pod that doesn't bolt in and just replaces the trim piece? Thanks

At one point I had the grand idea to make my own VDO gauges - with a twist. I would get an LCD screen and mount it up in the check panel area above the rear view mirror. It'd be about the same size as the check panel screen.

The hardest part would be driving the graphics on the LCD screen. Beyond that I'd need a few DACs to convert the analog signals from the sensors (oil pressure, oil temp, etc) to digital ones. Overall it wouldn't be too difficult of a project. I didn't spend $150+K for two EE degrees for nothing! :D

I'd have the ability to make custom gauges - round ones, bar ones, etc. I could have it go crazy, flashing red and buzzing when one of the levels gets critical. It'd be completely customizable.

...then my wife got pregnant and now I spend my project time replacing the flooring in the house, painting, moving furniture, etc. I don't even have the time to install the M-Tech II steering wheel that's been sitting in my basement for several months now.
